Start off with a tour of the floral boutique and cooler at Art In Bloom and then learn how to create your own mini “posie” with fresh blooms, greenery and ribbon. The “posie” will then serve as the inspiration for a pastel painting. Students will learn how to blend and create new colors with the pastels. Register early as we only take eight students in this session.

Tuition: $29 includes all materials for a mini fresh bouquet and a pastel painting.

Watercolor Workshop- for beginners ages 7 and up

This 90 minute workshop is designed for young artists who want to learn some of the basic watercolor techniques. After a series of mini practice paintings, students will select a fresh flower or plant from the floral boutique to use as a reference for a larger painting. Register early as we only take eight students in each session.

Tuition: $32, includes all materials.

Floral and Still Life Paintings

8 Mar

The Art In Bloom Gallery welcomes Michigan artist, Sviatoslav Kozakov. We will be featuring his beautiful impasto oil paintings through mid-May. The textural quality to Sviatoslav’s work comes from a combination of brush and palette knife work. If you’re in the Brighton area, you’ll want to stop in to see these paintings up close!

Congratulations to Kandra and Mark

Here are a few photos taken before the flowers for Kandra and Mark’s wedding were sent out the door on Saturday. I love the choice of succulents and textural elements for both the bride and groom.

Long Lasting Tropical Blooms

25 Feb

Primary_colors Birds_of_paradise

Pincushion protea and birds of paradise are always on the top of my weekly flower order. Not only are they bright and unique but they easily last twice as long as other more delicate blooms. Ask us to incorporate these tropicals into your next floral design.

Vine Spheres

When I’m looking for that surprise element in a floral design…vine spheres often do the trick.
